Externships

At Northern Illinois Veterinary Services we love building new team members from the ground up. An externship is the perfect opportunity for a long-lasting relationship with NIVS with the potential for part or full-time employment.

Our externships are a great next step in your veterinary education and career while putting into practice the skills and knowledge you’ve already learned in school. Under the supervision of a licensed veterinarian, you will:

• Dive deeper into patient histories
• Perform physical exams
• Develop diagnostic plans
• Practice effective client communication
• Assist in the management of medical cases
• Provide overall general care to patients
• Refine technical skills
